MLS Laser Therapy

How does MLS work?

MLS stands for Multiwave Locked System (Laser Therapy). It was developed in an effort to produce an efficient and simultaneous effect on pain, inflammation, and edema. MLS is a noninvasive pain management technique that uses low-level laser therapy to reduce pain and inflammation. FDA cleared in 2002, the technology was designed to produce an efficient and simultaneous effect on pain in a short period of time.

The control system that generates the MLS pulse synchronizes laser emissions to achieve optimum results. This means that various therapeutic effects take place at once, while also reciprocally reinforcing each other.

What happens during the procedure?

When you receive MLS Laser Therapy, there are a few things happening. Dr. Samir first uses the MLS laser to stimulate the mitochondria in your cells, jump-starting the body's own healing process. The laser energy then stimulates cells to evict toxins out of the cell and allow oxygen back into the cell again. Laser light boosts cell growth and heightens production of new, healthy cells. It also increases the development of new blood vessels by bringing new blood flow to the treated area.

What are some conditions MLS Laser Therapy can treat?

MLS is known the treat a myriad of conditions. Some of the more popular conditions patients suffer from before receiving  MLS are as follows:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Neuromas

  • Tendonitis
  • Wounds

This is all personal and individually relevant and upon your first exam, Dr. Nazam will know more about your treatment needs.

Does MLS Laser Therapy hurt?

No. MLS is fast becoming the standard of care for physicians all over the world. Effective at alleviating both acute and chronic pain, MLS has an 85-90% efficacy rate while also eliminating the risk associated with surgery and prescription painkillers.
