What are Injectables and Fillers?

Injectable fillers are a safe and effective way to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, enhance certain features, or slightly change your facial anatomy. They create a fuller look and reduce the appearance of sagging and aging skin.

BOTOX and dermal fillers are injectable medications that offer a quick and convenient way to improve the appearance of sunken cheeks, crow’s feet, and frown lines. BOTOX is typically used to resolve unwanted lines and wrinkles that form on the forehead and between the eyes.

Fillers on the other hand add volume or replace lost volume to different areas of the face. Injectable fillers, commonly referred to as soft-tissue fillers, face fillers, or dermal fillers are FDA approved products that typically contains three basic ingredients:

• Biosynthetic polymer
• Collagen
• Hyaluronic Acid (HA) 

These ingredients work together to increase facial volume while naturally increasing collagen and elastin production. In addition, fillers often help the skin accumulate and retain moisture resulting in a healthy and vibrant glow.

Injectable Fillers are a low-risk, non-surgical procedure performed by a qualified Injectables Specialist. Dr. Nazam is our in-house Injectables Specialist at Chantilly Medical Center.

What areas do they treat?

How long do treatments typically last?

Each cosmetic injectable product on the market has a different consistency, is used for treating different areas of the face, and metabolizes in the body, at different rates. This is why it is imperative that you choose a certified Injectables Specialist to fully evaluate your facial structure and choose the product and technique that will give you the natural results you desire.

For deeper injections used in the treatment of loss of structure and support in the cheeks, forehead, and temples, treatments may last as long as 12 months - 2 years.

Injections given closer to the surface of the skin with a thinner product, such as those used for fine lines and wrinkles, metabolize much quicker and will last 6-12 months.

Lip fillers due to the increased amount of movement in these muscles break down and dissolve at a much faster rate and need to be maintained more frequently.

If you are not happy with your results, hyaluronic acid fillers are reversible! While most patients absolutely love their new look. It can be a shock for some - or simply not what they were expecting Dr. Nazam can inject an enzyme that dissolves your fillers until you are happy with the outcome.
